In the same project management mode, I was fortunate to receive a copy of Jim Hassett’s Legal Project Management Quick Reference Guide to review. Most of you know Jim, or at least know that he is the founder of LegalBizDev. Jim saw, earlier than most anyone, that project management skills were going to be critical to making Value Fees (formerly know as alternative fees) successful and that there was, ahem, a viable market for Legal Project Management training. In case you didn’t guess it, viable is a tongue-in-cheek understatement. Lawyers are terrible at project management and if everyone got training who needed it, Jim would make Warren Buffet look like a piker.
Anyway, back to the Quick Reference Guide. The guide answers the "how to" questions that everyone has. It provides best practices, templates, guidance and Jim’s wisdom on how to accomplish this massive change by focusing on low hanging fruit and seizing early wins to demonstrate the value of this skill set.
This is an exceptional piece of work that you will want to examine.
